For Song Lyric Sunday our prompt is “car/cars.” The song that popped into my head first was the Beatles, “Baby You Can Drive My Car” but I don’t like using the first thing that pops into my head.
I remember that Bob Seger had an album out called “Ride Out” a few years ago and that there was a song on the album (are they called that still?) about a car. It is a “deuce and a quarter” but I had no clue what that meant. Apparently it is a Buick Electra 225 which were made between 1959 and 1990. This one is a 1977 version.
We have seen Bob Seger in concert a few times and have tickets to a show he had to cancel because he was having neck problems. I hope he gets better and can continue the tour! Here are some scrapbook pages I made from the pictures I took at the concert.
And here is the video of “Detroit Made:”
My first car was a Plymouth Valiant. I named him “Prince” after the Prince Valiant cartoon strip (which truthfully I never read, I just liked the name!)
I thought it was a pretty sweet ride! What was your first car? What song comes to mind when you think about cars? Share and play along if you’d like. It makes Sunday blog hopping so much fun!
