Jots in June – Escapist Coloring Club –

A few days late but here is my contribution to the Escapist Coloring Club this month.  I’ve actually had a chance to do a lot of coloring in the past couple of weeks.

This one I’m going to use as the background for a card.  I used markers to do the outlining and then pencil for the inside.

Same with this one.  It is actually meant to be a card as you can see the possible sentiments across the top.  Not sure which, if any, of those I’ll choose.  This one was pretty simple.  I just used one color for the flowers and outlined the leaves.

These are a little different.  I was commissioned to do a scrapbook album for a friend and I found some papers that I thought would go really well in the book since it was to be a keepsake using school work from when she was a child.

I am happy with the way they turned out and fortunately she was too.  It gave me the idea to offer to do similar albums as an item in my Etsy shop.  We’ll see where that goes too.

Thanks again to Linda G. Hill for coordinating this fun club!

These are such a great idea! Lovely work, Janet!
Sorry it took me so long to get around – for some reason, your link didn’t show up in the comments on the prompt. I’ll add it now. 🙂

Such pretty flowers! I do like the pink ones, with the outlined green leaves. The little photo scrapbook you made is wonderful. You are so creative in your ideas. 🙂

Thanks Barbara! The scrapbook is actually a 12 x 12 album and it came out to over 40 pages! A lot of it was using the girls own artwork cut down to make the backgrounds. You know how kids always bring home those huge paint projects!

Oh cool! I didn’t know it was a full sized one, but how wonderful to give it to them. That was a good idea for the background. I still have lots of those big paint projects my girls did way back when. 🙂

Thanks Leanne. Almost like meditation isn't it? Orderly, yes. Sometimes I have trouble coloring outside the lines but once in a while it is a good thing.

Thanks Melodye. It really is. And it is something I can do while watching TV. I have to keep my hands busy, you know?

Thanks so much! I really have enjoyed coloring since I was little so I was happy to see it make an “adult” appearance, especially since all the kids are grown.

I love colouring in – it's so soothing and takes my mind to another place – and it fits in with my orderly way of thinking too 🙂

Really pretty, Janet! Coloring is such a soothing activity.
